Negligence remains the leading cause of fire. However, simple precautions can prevent a disaster. Ensure that all of your smoke detectors are functioning properly. Avoid overloading electrical circuits, and above all, never leave smokers' materials within reach of children.

Spring means spring cleaning! There is nothing like fresh air to freshen up your home. Yet you should be careful not to leave doors and windows open unattended. The same applies for garage doors. If you're away for more than four consecutive days during the heating season, have a competent person enter your house daily to ensure heating is maintained.
